Blessed Thistle + Fenugreek for Increased Milk Supply

I use Blessed Thistle in combination with Fenugreek for increased breast milk supply. Taking these supplements does not increase milk supply for every breastfeeding mom, but you have a better chance of increasing supply if you take both Blessed Thistle AND Fenugreek together. You should smell like maple syrup from the Fenugreek - that's how much you should be taking! I normally take 3 capsules 3x daily of each Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle. Some people may need more. You generally notice an increase in production 24-72 hours after starting the herb, but it can take two weeks for others to see a change.

You should try other methods of increasing milk supply (working in extra pumps, hydrating, getting enough rest (hahaha)) before turning to supplements over-the-counter or prescription. I used the KellyMom website as a knowledge base during my breast feeding (1 child, 12 months and counting as a full time working mother).
